Youth Group Visits Sacred Heart Parish in Pine Ridge
Please view below what Religious Education/Youth Group Manager, Jennifer Black Bear shared with us:
"We collaborated with the Sacred Heart Parish on Saturday, October 20, 2018 for a Youth Fellowship Day in Pine Ridge.
Fr. Jacob Boddicker, SJ came all the way to Pine Ridge to start our day off by celebrating Mass! The SFM Youth group also opened up with Ice Breaker games. It was a fun way to get to know one another!
Ben and myself did a presentation for the youth about our Seven Lakota Values. We also had the youth create a banner about the values. The youth also heard presentations about Lakota ceremonies, Black Elk Canonization efforts, and from Jesse Manibusin. The youth also carved pumpkins, which we brought back to put at St. Charles Church.
We also hosted Jesse Manibusin who is a youth presenter/singer. He kept the youth engaged, laughing and was very encouraging to all youth present. Jesse was presented with a star quilt for coming to visit.
It was a great day! We are grateful and thankful for these great opportunities for the youth.
