Tasiha Unpi
Big Turkey, with his back to the viewer, is playing tasiha unpi (catching a deer bone with a needle). Another unknown man points at his play with a stick while others watch on. Note that two women are also sitting watching the play. Tasiha unpi is a gambling game mostly played by women. Observers would bet on a prospective winner. Deer bones (tasiha) are connected on a length of string to the tahinspa (bone needle). The object of the game is to catch as many bones, that have been tossed into motion. Holes drilled into the base of each bone determine high or low scores. If a player fails to catch any bones or loops at the end of the string the tasiha unpi device is passed on to the next player.
