Haka Unpi
Although this photo is identified as "haka unpi" there seems to be several things going on. According to descriptions of the Elk Game, a ring toss type of game, the player is to catch the ring tossed in the air. Here it appears that Bull Ring is tossing the wand horizontally (note the blurred foot) or perhaps he is moving to catch a ring. He is not holding the wand by the curved handle as described in the literature but rather he appears to be holding it halfway up the shaft? The man behind Bullring holds a wand (haka) but also holds what looks like a cansakala for the painyankapi? Big Turkey, on the right, is holding in the crutch of his arm a hoop that look like the tate kahwogyapi? Or could they be small cangleska for painyankapi? Big Turkey also holds what looks like a narrower rod(s) though this part of the picture is blurred and hard to see.
