Ways To Donate

My responsibility as Pastor of the Rosebud Reservation is to provide for the spiritual and physical well-being of the people in my charge. Faced with many difficult problems, the people of the Rosebud Reservation look to the Church for hope. Responding to tragedy resulting from high rates of substance abuse, unemployment, and suicide, St. Francis Mission initiated a number of successful programs that provide a bright spot of hope for many Lakota people.

St. Francis Mission is a non-profit organization that relies entirely on charitable contributions. Your gift makes a real difference in the quality of life for those on the Rosebud Indian Reservation.

Listed below are a number of ways that you can partner with us to provide a hope-filled future for many people. If you prefer, you can contact us directly. For more information, please call our Vice President, Sandra McNeely. She can be reached at (605) 718-7912 or by Email.

Matching Gifts

Matching gifts can be an efficient way to expand the impact of your gift. Many private companies offer a matching gift program whereby employees’ gifts to charitable organizations may be matched by a donation of equal size to a charitable organization from the employer.

Policies on matching gifts vary from company to company, and it is best to get in touch with the human resources division of your employer to find out what procedure must be followed in order to obtain the match for your gift. Generally your employer will ask you to fill out a form with a brief explanation of what the organization does, how much you gave, and when.

If you have questions about working with your employer to get a matching gift, please call our Vice President, Sandra McNeely. She can be reached at (605) 718-7912 or by Email.

Annuities

A charitable gift annuity is a contract under which a charity, like St. Francis Mission, agrees to pay a fixed amount of money to one or two individuals for their lifetime in return for a transfer of cash, marketable securities, or other assets. A person who receives payment is called an “annuitant” or “beneficiary.” The payments are fixed. A portion of payments is considered to be a partial tax-free return of the donor’s gift. Charitable gift annuities can be of great help to the charity receiving them, and can provide great tax benefits for the giver.

Wills, Estates and Trusts

Knowing that a gift will be made to the St. Francis Mission at your worldly journey’s end may provide great satisfaction to you once you have seen to it that your loved ones are provided for. Any form of charitable gift to the Mission from your estate will be free from federal estate tax and may significantly reduce the amount of tax assessed against your estate.

Writing the St. Francis Mission into your will must be done with the assistance of an attorney. For more information, please call our Vice President, Sandra McNeely. She can be reached at (605) 718-7912 or by Email.

Foundation Grants

The St. Francis Mission is always interested in exploring new partnerships with foundations that share its goals. We provide a wide array of secular services to those on the Rosebud Reservation, including alcohol recovery services, youth and family counseling, a dental clinic, a museum, and the longest running radio station on the Rosebud Reservation. We also have seven catholic parishes, as well as many new projects in development.
