Happy All Saints' Day! Today is a Holy Day of Obligation, meaning we must get to mass to celebrate all of the saints living in union with God.
Kateri Tekakwitha has officially been canonized as the first Native American Saint! Her feast day is July 14.

Marty Jones, RDH, is a Dental Hygienist who is becoming a familiar face at St. Francis Mission. Currently working under a grant from Delta Dental Program called Circle of Smiles; she is currently helping to facilitate St. Francis Mission’s Dental Clinic. Last week, we introduced you to Davanne Piccini, one of the new benefactor liaisons at the St. Francis Mission. Getting to St. Francis Mission isn’t easy. We are about 3 hours from Rapid City, South Dakota, and 6 or more hours from other large cities in neighboring states. Many of our donors live across the country, but they still want to see the work that we do. Instead of bringing our donors to the Mission, we have a small team of benefactor liaisons who bring the Mission to our donors. (more…)

2012 was a busy year at the St. Francis Mission. We said goodbye to old friends, and welcomed new ones. We celebrated the canonization of the first Native American saint, Saint Kateria Takakwitha. With the help of generous donors, the Mission staff and volunteers, we also reached a number of milestones. (more…)
