2016 Sacrament Preparation Dates & Times

We offer 3 baptism classes a year. Two classes in the Fall and one in the Spring. This is offered for infants to 7 years old.

The first session of Baptism classes will start September 18, 2016, at the Icimani Building in St. Francis at 2 p.m. and we will have four weeks of classes. Baptism will take place on October 16, 2016.

The second session will start on November 6, 2016 at the Religious Education Building/CYO in Rosebud at 2 p.m. for four weeks with Baptism to take place on December 4, 2016. Weekly Mass attendance is required.

Confirmation Classes will start on November 6, 2016 at 4 p.m. There will be 24 weeks of classes. We will meet weekly at the Religious Education building/CYO in Rosebud. Confirmation will take place on June 4, 2017 (tentatively). We will be using the Chosen program.

Requirements for Confirmation:
-Must be baptized and have made 1st communion.
-For 13 years of age and older.
-Active & practicing Catholic, Mass attendance is required.
-Attendance at Confirmation class, and participation in Confirmation retreat is required. (Date tba)
-Confirmation name: candidates are confirmed with their baptismal name, but it is strongly encouraged for candidates to select a Saint or Blessed person to study and emulate as a patron for confirmation.

Rites of Christian Initiation for Children and Rites of Christian Initiation for Adults classes will start in January 2017.

First Communion and Reconciliation:
We offer 1st communion/reconciliation class 6 weeks before Mother’s Day, with the sacrament taking place on Mother’s Day. The sacrament of Reconciliation will take place one week before 1st Communion.

-A child must be 8 years old and have reached the age of reason.
-Child must be baptized. We ask for a copy of the baptismal record.
-Attendance at First Communion Prep class is required.
-Attendance at weekly Mass services is required.
-Child should be interested in receiving his/her First Communion.
